I'm Miles
I live in Austin, and I sell life insurance.
I know how that sounds. Most of what you've seen from people in my job is a guy in a rented car telling you about a loophole. I'd rather show you the maths out loud and let you decide, including the times the maths says buy nothing.
What I actually do
Short version: I help people in Texas put a life insurance policy in place, and the insurance company pays me a commission if one gets issued. That's the whole business model. Here's the rest of it.
What I sell
- Whole life
- The boring kind. The premium doesn't change and the policy doesn't expire, as long as you keep paying it.
- Indexed universal life
- More moving parts. The illustration is a projection, not a promise, and I'll show you which parts of it can move against you.
- Small whole life policies
- The ones people call "final expense". The job is that a funeral doesn't arrive as a bill for someone else.
What I don't
- Term
- I don't write it. If you've got a mortgage and young kids, level term is usually the cheapest way to cover exactly that, and it's often the right answer. If that's your answer I'll tell you, and point you at someone who can write it. I don't get paid for that.
- Anywhere but Texas
- I'm licensed here and nowhere else. If you found me from somewhere else I can't sell you anything. Still happy to talk.

- I'm not a financial advisor, an accountant or an attorney. I sell one thing and I try to know it properly.
If you message me
You get me, not a script. Roughly how it goes:
You tell me what's going on. New kid, new job, someone in your family just had a scare, or you're only curious. All fine.
I ask some questions. Age, health, who depends on you, what you're already paying for. Nothing you'd need to look up.
I tell you what I'd do. Sometimes that's a policy. Sometimes it's "you're 24 with no kids, keep your money." Sometimes it's term, which I don't sell.
I'm not going to message you eleven times. If you go quiet, I'll take that as a no.
